What does a chief of staff do?
• They understand the business’s day-to-day operations in the context of the overall goals and KPIs.
• They dig in with your team to guide and facilitate implementation by removing barriers and finding efficiencies—not just making recommendations.
• They have a unique view of the business, the people, and the issues that arise. Their outside perspective and experience brings fresh eyes to problems (and relationships).
• They communicate effectively across teams, with stakeholders, including senior leadership and the board.
• They make sure things get done!
How it works:
• We’ll start with a thorough paid discovery project. I’ll dig right in to goals, strategic plans, your people, clients, products, everything. The deliverable will be a complete implementation plan for where the org needs the most help, force-ranked by what will make the biggest difference first.
• That plan will include costs and expectations for my time as your fractional chief of staff. This will typically be a weekly retainer, between 10 and 25 hours per week, depending on what needs to be done, the speed we want to go, and the capacity of your team.
• Then we get to work on the plan! I’ll send weekly status updates on what’s been done and what’s on deck for the following week.
Investment:
• Initial discovery project: Starting at $5,000, applied to retainer costs if we move forward
• Weekly fractional retainers: Starting at $2,500/week
